The student service fee (SSF) is a charge that funds a wide range of essential support services and facilities for students.

The fee for a full-time student is a maximum of NZ$350.00, inclusive of GST (indicative). Part-time students pay a proportion of this fee based on the number of credits they are studying and may vary depending on their course selection. This fee can be checked in the course details.

The 2026 SSF final fee is currently subject to consultation with learners, which is underway. 

This fee covers student learning and support services such as;

  • Student helpdesk
  • Recreation areas and student lounges
  • Support teams offering you learning support; advocacy and a confidential ear and referral around study, health issues, disability and access, legal matters, careers information and advice, employment opportunities, financial advice, pastoral care and free counselling services.
